Hi,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with CA knife laws. I am getting a Kershaw folder and was wondering if there is anything I should know? What is the minimun age to carry a knife? I am new to knives so any help is appreciated.

Jason.

This is a law sheet for California that I put together to carry with me in my wallet. I update it quite frequently with new stuff that I find. It was compiled from various sources on the Internet and is made to be printed on the front and back of a single piece of paper. The yellow highlights are parts that I found important and the grey highlights are notes that I put in to summarize the laws as they are commonly understood.

Hope this helps,
Dustin

Thanks Dustin! Do you know the legal age though? Thanks.

Jason.

For schools you must be 18 years or over (but I don't recomend even trying to take one on the grounds of any K-12 schools), but other tha that, I don't believe that there are any laws regarding age.

Out here in Santa Clarita, minors are expressly prohibited from carrying folders in plain view. I wonder if they allowed concealed carry for them young 'uns.

Yeah, county and city law definitely plays a role here in LA county and Anaheim, I don't think there are any age restrictions. I don't know about other counties. Though, it isn't too hard to look up a particular county's municipal codes.
