CA Selling Auto?

From what I`ve read of the law you can legaly own an auto in CA but you can't carry it and it must be in the back seat/trunk of your car for transportation.

What I didn't read about or understand from anyone is in regards to selling an auto.

Can I sell one to someone in California and mail it to them with no worries?

Can I sell one to someone out of California with no worries?

You can't legally sell/give/lend/etc an auto 2" in blade length or over (or balisongs). You can't carry one on your person either. You can however buy/receive one. Go figure. It's the seller breaking the law, not the buyer. You can own them in your private property, and transport them in your car like you could a firearm (in your trunk).

Autos and balisongs under 2" in blade length however are fair game.

It's illegal to send an auto (balisongs aren't considered switchblades in the case) to an unauthorized recipient across state lines. Federal law. An authorized recipient would be a law enforcement agent, active military personel, or a dealer/manufacturer.

Interesting, so everyone selling autos on ebay are breaking the law since an indivual out of state would be buying it? (Assuming it's sold out of state which happens often I`d imagine.)

So pretty much once you have an auto you can't sell it or do anything wtih it while in the state? Correct?
