Cabela's 110 in blister pack

Cabela's is selling a 110. It has a tin and a sheath, but you cannot see the sheath. "Cabelas" appears to be painted on the blade. Nothing on the package says if the sheath is leather or poly but their website says it is leather. The price is low but the hollow grind portion of the blade looks rougher than normal, as if it was done with a coarser grit.

Has anyone bought one? I'm interested in how it feels and looks once removed from the blister pack. I worry that the Cabela's logo would wear off. I don't need it either, I've got a 110 and don't plan a collection. I'm just interested in the quality level. Not interested enough to buy one I guess.;)

You're probably right about the Cabela's logo probably wearing off. There isn't anything special about that particular 110 from other 110s other than the tin and logo painted on the blade. I'm sure it's just something to get sales. It probably won't have any collector value above any other base 110. A lot of items are sold as limited edition, they limit the item to a million pieces and take 10 years to sell them all often ending up in a bargain bin. It's a nice knife though and might look good displayed among a collection of 110's. The price is on par with base 110's with a leather sheath.

I was in cabelas the other day they had them marked down to $23 I picked up 4 of them to give away as cheap Christmas gifts. I haven't even opened one up to inspect it however.

Yes, leather sheath and cabelas comes off the blade. Just paint.

I bought the same set here with black cabelas logo and tin, sheath is nylon and nothing fancy its a working knife!

I'm going to pick one up soon. Should have gotten one when they were on sale. It's like getting another 110 with a free tin. Not bad if you ask me. If I can't use the tin, I'll give it to my daughter for crayons or Barbie shoes...win/win

If Buffalo Bill Cody were alive today he could amble into our beloved big box and skip out with one for over one year less than the current drinking age... Cheers! Christmas will be here before you know it despite the triple digit temperatures in Desert Chris's neck of the woods :D

BTW I just moved to Tualatin.

Sidebar: Mr. Cody, at one time the most famous American, has a town named after him in Wyoming. I stopped and spent several days there to see the stunning Museum bearing his name and the grave of a particular mountain man. Inside the museum I took a photo of this picture that you see today. You can find it by Googling as well. Bucket list Cody.

Been in the blind, no internet for this sort of thing anyway, for a bit during move. Maybe Friday back in the pink. Well matched sides, even grind, leather sheath, blade evenly spaced when closed, golden patina on brass. A good thing in my book that the black logo will come off.
