Cabelas 110

nice enough knife thanks for the link but priced high IMHO the elk cutout and ironwood scales and display case are all good features but i personally dont like the brass bolsters and the blade is the standard 420 steel so its not for me
good thing theres still so many i need that i DO like

Scott,
I like the look of the ironwood scales but I'm not really a fan of cutouts on knife blades. As an alternative, you may want to take a look at the KOA flamewood scales that Buck offers on the custom 110 page. I got one with BG-42 scales and brass bolsters (wood scales look better with brass bolsters in my opinion) and finger grooves.

 ...You echo my sentiments exactly Mike. Never have been a fan of cutouts, or etchings and pictures for that matter, on the blades of knives myself. As I'm not a "true collector", as so many of our friends are, I prefer to have something I'd never be afraid of using at any time without worrying about damaging the etching or picture. I do imagine though, that a knife with a cut out alone could always be used without fear of removing the cut out as you may remove an etching or picture from the blade through use. That Cabelas knife is still a beauty however... :

Yep...what Darryl and Mike said. I think I have one or two 110 with cutouts for grins. But would never use one. Sharpen that pup a few times and you're down to the cutout.

Scott...I really like that Signature Series in the link you provided. Think next time the eagle dumps (payday) I'll order one. Thanks for that post.

Kindest Regards,
Goose.

Hi Scott,

Yes I have my eye on this one and the 192 to go with it. I got last years set 110/192 with stag handles and deer cut outs. What can I say fellas; I,m with Dave!!! I like the blade cut outs and Gold etched blades.....love them limited editions:D . My goal is to collect as many of the old 110 and 500 gold etched LE's that I can.
