Attention Buckaroos. I just got Cabela's flier in the newspaper and they're having a "50% Off Select Buck Knives" sale starting today. The add also says that there are limited quantities available and that models vary by store. I'm heading down there about 10am.

Anything good? :)

I just called them and it must be just a local store.. But you said stores.....Any 112s ????? Where are you located??

What a rip (by Cabela's - not Buck). The only ones on sale were the Metro, the Short Approach, and some other model that I've never seen before. The store was the new one in the Northwest Chicago suburbs.

Sorry for getting anyone's hopes up. I personally wasted three hours of my day perusing a store that for the most part had higher prices than stores near me. Needless to say, I came out Buckless which is a Bucking Shame.

Around Thanksgiving, they ran some (originally) $40 Bucks on sale for $10around here. They didn't have a single one- they were subsituting a very cheap, cheesy, no-name Chinese liner lock instead for the same price. :grumpy:

Same thing at the Michigan Cabela's. There was a whole rack, wide variety of carded Bucks. Big sign on top of rack,

Selected Buck Knives - 50% off
50 Selected Models included

I ask the guy behind the counter, all these on sale? He says, he didn't see the ad, but by the looks of the display, it looks like it. I start loading up an arm load, just then another worker saunters by, and he asks her if there are all on sale. She says - Nope, only those on the second row.

No sign, no sale markers, no nothing to indicate the second row. I take one of the non second row knives up to the counter with the rest of my purchases, just to see. They scan it, it comes up full price. I wasn't in the mood to argue, so told the cashier, never mind, I'll pass.

Oh darn it...

This thread had me all excited! I received another gift card for xmas and was considering picking up another AG110 in S30V.

Hmmm now what to do?... :D

I took advantage of the sale price on the website. Ended up with three of the imported Diamondback fixed blades that have been on sale for weeks. They arrived just before Christmas and I gotta admit, for the price ($7.49 ea), they seem to be outstanding deals. I got two of the 3.25" and one 4.25".

Check the web site for the sale items. There aren't that many. BTW, if you are interested in the Diamondbacks, they are listed under the foldong knives section (even though they are fixed blades).

pork_chop, thanks for saving me a trip to Dundee. I swear, they must have elves that come in and change the price on everything overnight at that store. I've bought stuff there for $20 only to go back a week later for their "Club Weekend Sale" to find the same item $10 higher. Of course being a card holder/club member I could get it for the sale price of $20  .

It seems like it's tougher and tougher to find a real bargin/deal at Cabela's. Even the bargin cave seems to have a lot of broken junk which they mark down 15% off their list.
