Can the TiNi coating on an AG S30 110 be touched up or refurbed? I just bought one with a few scratches on it and am thinking of either stripping it or attempting to send it back for a refurb.. Thanks..

You may want to call Buck or email Joe Houser. (I am not an expert) ;) I don't know if they have blades available to swap on that model? I would think so. They won't touch it up, it is molecular bond, not a coating. Did you buy it with the scratches, or are they from the opening and closing of the knife? Sorry you arent happy with it, its a great knife! As far as stripping it, I would think it could be done, but it will take some elbow grease! :D

Good luck!

The knife came that way.. I knew it was scratched when I bought it.. Im debating weather I should just keep it as a beater/user or try to get it fixed..

I recommend keeping it as a user and keep a lookout for another. I really don't know if a scratched coating would qualify for warranty repair or be considered normal wear, like scratches you get on the bolster from use, or wear on a blade from use and sharpening.

These are darn good users. Keep it and get another for a show pony.

Then I think i would keep it and use it! Buck may fix it, but I dont know what you paid, and if it would e worth it. Its a great user! Cabelas has sold those for years, its not like there was only 100made for collector value or anything ;) Enjoy it either way!!!
