I really like this Buck made knife. Course that old Marbles pattern is a classic. This went off last night on the bay. I've only see one other. Any of you Bucksters have one in the collection? I was interested in the number of these produced. Seller indicated 92-93 production.

It reminds me of the very first knife I ever got. I was probably about 7 and Dad took me to the Howards Dept. store and I picked out the knife with Dad suggesting (probably decided for me) and I remember that it cost $7. Yep, that first one was a dead ringer for this Marbles classic. Wish I still had it but it disappeared along the way.

Any opinions on the fair value for one of these??

there is a version of this made for ducks unlimited also
that does show up more often
they sell real reasonable at about 40$
they dont have stacked leather though
this one with stacked leather ...
seems to me i seen then a few times at about 70?
yes marbles is classic

Dave,

$70-$80 was my thought as well. Its a nice knife but with a cheapo sheath. Steel is probably 425M which is a plus with me. This one sold for $130.

Hi Gordon,

I know a lot of folks like that old Marbles patterned classic. I for one find it to look just like an odd shaped 103. I do have one that has been modified with a stag handle. I will most likely get the stacked handle & the DU version to round out the set....some day. I'll post a photo when I get the time to snap the shutter some.

I got this one off ebay...so I have no idea who did the mod. Though I thought the knife looked interesting (stag), I really only wanted the custom knife stand that was sold with this knife (wanted the stand for my 124 display).

The man cave? LOL, well it's big enough to have a small love seat couch, my oak desk is cluttered with PC, scanner, and printer. Just about out of wall space unless I take down the Bev Doolittle framed Art:rolleyes:. But, there is no way I loose the flat screen TV....PBR is on right now and I watch the Hunting channel all the time:thumbup:. However, my wife put her treadmill in here:mad: it takes up 1/3 the available floor space (that real estate could hold another display cabinet;).

As you can gather this Flatlander is a Buckaholic with Packrat tendencies. I seem to have a hawkeye for Buck knives. But, my wife said that I better slow down or she and the kids are going to Heng em this old man from the nearest tree and leave some chickentrax on my back side. I say to her "Hay baby I just carrying on that EEE, hkingdom, Clydetz,Tattoo223, 334dave, Buck knife tradition". In other words the man cave room just is not big enough, but, it will do.
