Have I missed something? Is there now a new 110 with 440HC steel, and a 119 with 440C steel?

I rarely look at the Cabellas things anymore, but the Fall review came today and I glanced at the Bucks they have listed.

Was surprised to see this steel. At least that is what is listed on one of the 110 and 119's

Y'all have probably already talked about this and I just missed it.

I haven't read anything about it...is that the Fall catalog???

Well, a check of the web site is in order...and the web site is not encouraging...

Buck 110 Folding Hunter and 119 Special
They're two of the most popular and imitated knives in the industry because of their heavy-duty 420 high-carbon stainless steel blades and tough field-proven designs. Sheaths included.

# The 110 Folding Knife is Buck's famous folding design and brass handle bolsters. It has a 3-3/4" satin finished blade.

# The 119 Special is a classic, fixed-blade hunting knife with Centennial blade etching,
10-1/2" overall.

Can you post a scan of the catalog, packy??? Then we can all besiege CJ, Chuck, and Joe with our orders... :)

I went through a few on the website. All I found was 420. But didn't look at all of them.

Catalog says Fall Review 2009

Most likely just a typo. I'm sure it should read 420. Sure is a lot typo errors these days. typo reads NK but you get sent brass.....that happened to me last year. My BPS white boner was to be brass like everyone else got. But, no I got NK what a disapointment...NOT;). LOL

Yes JB, typo was my first thought...but I haven't been keeping up of late. So that 440 kind of stood out to me. And there was some chatter some time back about folks wanting some of the old 440 in a new 110.

so I donno...

Interesting that one states 440 C and the other states 440 HC? Call Cabelas and ask...I don't trust them. But, maybe you do.

I looked this one up on Cabelas website and it doesn't list the type steel.

Oh well, I am not looking to buy anyway.
