This David Farmer/Ilbruche combo showed up in the mail on Friday. It's O-1 and light, long and sharp. Ilbruche called it a carving knife for elephants... Got out and messed around a little:

That thing is cool!

It's good to see Bruce's down time hasn't bothered his sheath making. Thats a beaut!

Are you kiddin' me? An elephant wouldn't go near that thing, it would be scared sh#@tless! :D:thumbup:

No, Bruce can still bend some leather!

They'd want bigger grips too:D

man.. that is a great looking set up... i think i need one..:D

You need one Mike:thumbup:

Nice Rig.  Can we call this a Sword? :D

It's got kind of Cossack short sword look doesn't it... It feels like a kitchen knife on steroids.

Wow, I love the sheath rig!

Yep, Bruce does nice work. I've missed his stuff (he took a little time away..), good thing that are so many other greats here too! A couple of other examples of Ilbruche's work:

To ye, owner-of-many-weird-knives , thanks for posting the Machax picture. :D

BTW, are you planning on heading up this way, this year?

Doc

Oof that's a nice blade. Looks like it would do the job of a light machete but with far more elegance.

I'm reminded of an elf blade from Lord of the Rings. I mean this as a compliment to the lines of the blade and how I perceive it would work/feel in the hand when in use.

Doc - Thanks. I love the Machax, I was just out playing with it the other day.... I'm working on coming up this year, maybe in August, you will be the first to know!

David's big blades come alive in the hand, it feels like you are holding a light saber:thumbup:
