Inquiring minds want to know! I am fortunate to have received some of IG's great cannister damascus. It is getting impatient, staying close to the grinder. By the way, I sure like that knife, fella. What George sent me is really great looking stuff. Great guy, ol' Indian George! You got a name for that knife?

That is a sweet little knife. I got to play with it at the show a couple weeks ago. Ed wouldn't let me take it home though, bummer. Keep up the good work Ed.

John, I heat treated same as I would for 5160. Three normalizing cycles after forging, three more after grinding, take it up to non-magnetic, and quenched in pre-heated olive oil. Then three tempering cycles at 375.

I hadn't really thought of a name for it, but it'll probably be known as my "occlusion hunter"........I only showed you the good side. The other has, shall we say......more character

I am very greatful to George for helping me with my first try at cable. He is a great guy, and I look forward to getting back to his place in a few weeks for the next hammer in. I gotta get better at this cutting comp stuff and this looks like a great opportunity to practice.

ED: That looks sweet and nice lines. Thanks for the kind words guys.
John: If you plan on forging tha billet I sent you. Make sure you forge it around welding temp.

I like it. It looks like a good user with a lot of style!
George makes some great stuff. I just wish he'd show more of it!

Thanks for the info,IG. As to what Peter says, I too, wish we could see more of IG's damascus here. IG is very modest about his work.
