cable damascus

This ia a ? for you guys that make cable damascus. Does anyone know where I can find
some 15n20 in light wire, maybe .20 or 30 thousandths. Or is there some other wire you can weave into a peice of cable to give it a little more character. My cable that i make now all had very simular paterns, kinda like fish scales. Thanks for any help you can give me, Leroy

You can weave pure nickle in your billet. Not too much and try to keep it away from the edge. The fish scale look is pretty normal for cable. Try folding in different directions, also stacking multiple cables then removing a lot from the side gives and interesting pattern. Just have to remove the same from each side to get the pattern even, Also try doing a larger billet then W. This gives a neat look also. Good luck and keep playing with it.

thanks for the info chuck i am new to cable only hammered about five blades so far. I have a 7/8 in cable now that has a center cable, i think i will try wrapping wit h the pure nickel and see what happens leroy
