This is a set of tools used by telephone techs to slice telephone wires. I started using this set on antique radios with point-to-point wiring. The snip cuts the 18 to 24-gauge wire used in these old rigs without problems. And it is dead handy for fishing tackle. My old Klein set was getting very worn. Looking to get a new Klein set, but I found out they are no longer made in the States. I looked around and found that Ideal Electrical is made in the USA. The knife is a very heavy-duty tool. I used to use the old Klein version to open oil cans back when there were oil cans.

This is a detail on the scissors; these slots are for stripping insulation and scraping off corrosion on copper-clad telephone wire and stripping insulation.
