Comfort zone and conscience tells me to go with the LCABS. Curiosity and "yeah but" and that annoying little voice in my head says to try a choiless knife. I dont own any choiless knives. ARRGG! I kinda like the idea of the added blade space.

I feel your pain man...

But outta muscle memory I usually catch my pointer finger unconciously searching for a choil - I've cut myself a few times like this (BRKT Canadian Special was usually the culprit)...

I actually sold all my BRKTs (except one) because they all lack a choil which led to my above problem.

So its full sized choil for me :D

You guys need to carry a Case Peanut for a while. :D

I'm probably going to go with the large choil as well. I really like the control of having my finger right up against the edge, and even with no choil I just can't get as close as I like with the talon hole.

No brainer for me, as I dislike choils on smaller knives. They look good, but can be a real pain in the azz when using one.

LVC and others are right, IMO - there are things choil-less knives do better, whereas there's no obvious downside to not having a choil in a knife that's this size and intent.

I think the Large Choil one "looks right" and is what I'm used to too - but I'm going for pure function, and a CABS seems like the perfect addition a user toolbox - so to speak.

Do you hunt or do any other activities involving an "underhand" type slicing approach? This is where a Choil-Less knife shines for me. For processing an animal / meat....a choil is a PITA.

EDIT: Thinking more about the LCABS though....my above statement is more reflective towards Small Choils. I don't think I've ever used a large choil in processing meat or an animal of sorts.....my guess is that it would catch "as much" as the small choil...but would still get in the way.

Anyone able to make an educated guess as to the proportions that were sold for the BOSS Jacks? Did the Large Choil dominate? How big was the small-choil group given the choices? I would think the small-choil would immediately become the least favorite...

Busse does not release numbers. You might as well toss a Boss Jack at a Ouija Board. :p

The Boss Jack is the size knife thats needs a full sized choil.
The Boss Street is the size that needs no choil.

I hope most can figure out why, so I don't have to explain it:p

Don't worry. You have time. Jerry is currently making the un-released Muk that will ship minutes after the Go-button. Your CAB-esque blades will take til January to even release, let alone make. (Because it'll take 4 months of 24 hour shifts in order to get all the Muk's made.)

So take your time and pick.

I like both the large and no choil. I see no reason for a small choil as you can add a sharpening choil yourself if you wish.
With the large or no choil, this is a great user blade!

I think this is the rational I'm going on too. While I think the large choil looks right, I think the function of a choiless blade would be better on this small knife. Plus I just dont have a no-choil knife, so it wouldn't hurt. Hmmm, CABS it is... for now. :D
