I recently found an old KSF pocket sheath in my box of “knife junk”, and decided to give it a try again. I carried different sized pocket sheaths for 3 years, always trying to squeeze a Pioneer and an Izula II in it, but it was just too darned heavy to ride around in my back pocket...which is why I retired it.
I soaked it, and let it dry, hoping to try the pocket sheath again, but using a smaller combo. I already had a Vic Cadet, and ordered the little Tops fixed blade. Everything fits well, it’s barely noticeable in my BR pocket, frees up some room in my FR pocket, and it’ll only get better as the leather softens up a bit. Just thought I’d show it off a little, and maybe get a little feedback.

Yes, looks great. But back pocket carry? That CAN'T be comfortable to sit on...

Here's my tried-and-true system:
  • FR pocket - (folding) pocket knife, keys, sometimes a clip-on folder
  • FL pocket - phone
  • BR pocket - clip-on folder* or empty
  • BL pocket - wallet
* if it's not a big one, and it's just on the corner of the pocket, I barely notice I'm sitting on it!

Get into some cargo pants or shorts and then you've got all KINDS of options!

The shape of the sheath keeps the fixed blade against the outside seam of your back pocket, so it’s honestly not a burden...even when you’re seated. In fact, I carried similar setups for years, some with larger fixed and folders, and I’d much rather carry something like this than I would an “overbuilt” folder in my front pocket.

This little Tops and a Cadet won’t weigh your pants pocket down, and in my experience that’s when a pocket sheath no longer seems like a good idea.
