Ken Coats created a beauty of a knife in the knife makers forum that caught my eye even though I did not get the chance to pick it up. After seeing this super slipjoint I cried loud enough to convince Ken into making another one for me (It must have been the all night vigils on his porch that convinced him).

Well it came calling today in my PO box and after caressing it with great loving care that made my wife jealous I took a few pics to show it off.

Ken calls it a Jack but I keep wanting to classify it as a single blade farmers knife or trapper. It's 4 7/8" closed and 9" open with jigged amber scales. I love the great swedge and old style nail nick with crisp long pulls...

Thanks again Ken....:D

Nice one, Ralph. Reminds me of some classic old Case bone.

Holy crap, I read the title as "Cadillacs of Goats."

...I really need to get some sleep.

That's a beauty Ralph....a real pig sticker !

Don't worry about the photos Ken, Sunshine can't make a knife. ;)

I've been looking, well perhaps leering, at Coats knives for a while. Just absolutely nails it for me.

someday ....someday..

That is flat out amazing:eek: Those scales, that shield, the long pull nail nick... I think I just ran out of words to describe what I like about that knife.:D

Holy crap, I read the title as "Cadillacs of Goats."

I think Gus might have a couple of those rolling around the back forty:D

Incredible knife Sunburst and Ken, could I be any more envious?

Eric

I think that I have to disagree. It looks more like one of those old Lincoln Continental Mark IIs. Maybe about a '56 model.

:D

Hey, that looks familiar! Congratulations, Ralph. She's a beauty.

In case you're wondering, Ken sent the pix of your knife to me by accident. ;)

Nice one Burst-man! Where is that porch, anyway?

Ken's knives rock! I handled one of these at the Guild Show. NICE!

The bone on that is outstanding, both the color and the jigging. Thanks for taking such great pics.

I remember when the first one came up on the for sale forum. Great score Ralph and nice work Ken.
