This isn't my knife, but I figured you folks just might want to see it. The picture comes from The Knife Network.

Knifemaker: Ed Caffrey, ABS Mastersmith
Blade Length: 16"
Overall Length: 21"
Blade Steel: Mosaic Damascus (1080 & 15N20)
Handle Material: Carved/Textured Fossile Walrus Ivory
Bolster/Guard: Hot Blued Mild steel
Sheath/Pouch: 10-12 oz. oak tanned leather with "D" rings

Description: This is a LARGE recurve bowie, yet it is light and fast. Mosaic blade, hot blued fittings with copper accents, and fossil walrus ivory handle.

21"? Dayum, that's practically a short sword. Typical Caffrey awesomeness. I love the sheath. Does anyone know what those rings are for (or are they simply decorative)?

Roger

Smokin' knife! Roger, I believe the rings are for attaching some sort of sling or attachments for a belt.
I'd like to see Mike Sastre try and make a southern comfort rig for this! (I'm sure he could make it, I'd like to see someone try and stuff it down their pants!)

Very nice! I'm really becoming more attracted to the longer blades.

Do you know if the ivory is flush up against the guard or is there a spacer seperating them?

Beautiful knife!

I posted in the other forum as well but everytime I look at this puppy it just blows me away! Ed is one guy who makes some truly impressive work!!!

There is a .025" copper spacer between the handle material and the and the guard and another one between the handle material and the buttcap.
