Hey guys, Chuck Ward can't make it to the show due to health reasons. Please keep him and Mary in your prayers.

I've been asked to setup my gear and take over knife photography for Chuck at the show. I will be in a curtained off area in the Wally Allen Ballroom (same room as show). It will be first come, first served so be sure and place your orders at the show ASAP. And remember, if there are any knives I can't get to at the show, I can always take them home with me and photograph them in my studio then forward them to your client or back to you. I will have two very lovely assistants helping me out. My Mom, Patti and my Sister, Anna.

On top of knife photography I will be shooting the goings on at the reception on Friday. Also, I will take about 30 minutes on both Saturday and Sunday to say "HEY!!! :D " to everyone and walk around the show doing my regular show atmosphere photos so if you see me coming down your aisle in my mismatched Nike's, be sure and get your smile on. ;)

See you at the show!!!

I'm sorry to hear Chuck isn't well. You will no doubt be a fine fill-in.
Being I won't be able to make it to the Show I will look forward to seeing your photos.

Too bad about Chuck, hes a great guy and I always look forward to his images. Best wishes to you Chuck if your reading this!

I'm really looking forward to your pictures Caleb. I don't recall seeing a knife show series from you so I am wondering if this will be a new experience for you? I know you spend alot of time on your images so I eagerly await seeing how these differ in a more time rushed setting. For example if they will look more commercial or have that dramatic dark flare you are known for.

Can't wait, and good luck!! (even if its not your first time).

Sorry to hear Chuck can't make it. I'll be in line early with a couple knives for you that we discussed already. Sounds like you will have your hands full and big shoes to fill.

PS: if you need to borrow money so you can buy a matched pair of shoes, I'd be happy to help :). Maybe we can take up a collection for you.

Thanks guys, I'll certainly do my best.

Jon, it will be my first time shooting knives at a show, however, I have shot rushed images before at other types of events. I was able to go relatively fast without compromising image quality. One reason I'm slower at my home studio is because I'm constantly experimenting with new lighting. If I just go with what I know works well I can shoot relatively fast. Quality first, always. My brain won't let me compromise. It's weird.

Mark, I hope they keep us informed. I wasn't told how serious Chuck's heath is but I'm sure it's not good. =(

I look forward to shooting those and I will most definitely be filling large shoes.

LOL :D Maybe a can of spray paint at the very least. ;)

Mark, he has another pair just like that pair at home.
See you folks soon

I hope returns to normal for Chuck. I hate to hear of these kinds of issues. I pleased to hear that you will be filling in.

Chris

Sorry to hear about Chuck. Will keep him in our prayers. Caleb you will do fine. Looking forward to seeing you and those Nike's.

Safe travels everyone

Enjoy the non-stop action of shooting knives at the how, Caleb!
I also like your "Walk around the Show routine", adding names to
the people would really make it a truly valuable document!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I've enjoyed your photos from past shows and am certain I will this year.
Walk softly and take lots of shots.

Back from a great show and wanted to give a special shout out to Caleb. It's amazing to see him go from the sidelines taking pics of people to being center stage as the main knife photographer in such a short time. I haven't seen photos yet (I'm sure they are great) but wanted to give kudos to his amazing work ethic this weekend.

He worked non-stop to keep up with the demand. I'm told he worked until 1am this morning and was already hard at work when Bing and I arrived at 8am, which was two hours before showtime. I was thrilled to learn he had photographed mine during the night rather than this morning as promised. It allowed me to get an early start to beat bad weather.

Miss-match shoes or not, Caleb flat out worked his tail off!! Kudos!

Look forward to seeing all the photos.

Yes what Mark said^. And a special thanks to Caleb's mother and sister. They all worked very hard. To make sure we were all attended to.

Thanks so much for stepping in on such short notice.
Again prayers to Chuck for a speedy recovery

Bing

I hated to hear that Chuck Ward was not feeling well. He is a great guy and photographer. I was however, excited to see Caleb have the opportunity to do the photography at such a great show. I am looking forward to seeing the images. Especially of my knife.

Thank you so much for the kind words guys! Shooting knives at the show last weekend was insane but I still enjoyed photographing all of the awesome knives!

I want to apologize for not getting out on the show floor and doing people photography. When I said I would do the people photography I had never shot knives at a show before last weekend and didn't know how intense it was going to be. Thankfully my friend Logan Pearce had his camera out shooting the show floor and got some photos I'm sure you guys will really enjoy.

I will be posting a thread with all of the knife images from the show.
