While out in the woods today, saw a guy carrying his 12" Ontario machete strapped to the upper part of his calf and his ankle. It actually looked very comfortable and out of the way, however he could not provide me with any information on where to get one because his wife made it for him.
What do you guys think?

Looked kinda like this.

I'm wondering how comfortable it really is(?)..it would have to be strapped on pretty tight, after a lengthy hike I would think it would effect your blood flow and the weight on one leg and not the other .......worth a try I guess but not for me.
I made myself a Baldrik for carrying heavier pieces I didn't want on my belt, like a machete, pistol, etc. It's worked out very well.

I actually asked him all the same questions, and he said it was a pretty comfortable system. and that it really didn't have to be that tight on his leg.
I might just have to fabricate one and see how it works.
I did some research, and it seems that some of our service men use this system as well, which leads me to think it might work for.
