Calf pen design question

One hand opening. You can catch it on a table or a belt loop, etc., and open the blade. Some call it a “one-arm man razor blade.”

Most traditionals you would have to get past that springy tension in the knife when opening. I don't think it would come open compared to something smooth.

It doesn’t have to open all the way, just far enough to expose the cutting edge. My uncle got in the habit of closing the clip blade on his Schrade stockman with his index finger as he was putting it into his pocket. One day it closed on a clump of pocket lint and left the tip of the blade exposed. Next time he reached in there for something, it laid his finger open just like a scalpel. (My uncle was the one who taught me the value of always carrying a SHARP knife.) As with everything else, Mr. Murphy is always there when you least expect him!
