Hello!

I am looking for 1-2 day bladesmith course to purchase for my boyfriend as a gift in the Calgary region.

He has previously made two knives and is looking at honing his skills.

Any recommendations or links would be greatly appreciated.

There is a guy in Alberta that sells lots of knifemaking supplies and I am sure he could help you out. If you send me an email at hlbob1 at hotmail dot com I will give you his website. Or just search knifemaking supplies and I am sure it will come up.
 
You might try and get in touch with Jim Clow. He's a couple hours from Calgary, but he hosts knifemaking events at his shop.
 
Jim Clow didn't host the hammer in this year, and sold his press. I heard he is doing mostly folders now, but I haven't spoken to him myself. Try to e-mail him and see what's up. I know a fellow in Calgary who is pretty helpful. He might be open to showing the boyfriend a few things. Send me an e-mail if you want me to get in touch with him.
 
Ed Storch is outside of Calgary (Mannville) but a great gentleman who does teach blade smithing/Damascus making. I have yet to attend his classes but have known him for 20+ years through gun shows etc. this October he passed my kids a gladius he made- always treats everybody as equals! One of his paring knives is a regular in my daughters hands in the kitchen!
