Calgary Area - Looking for Bladesmith Courses

Hello!

I am looking for 1-2 day bladesmith course to purchase for my boyfriend as a gift in the Calgary region.

He has previously made two knives and is looking at honing his skills.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Countrybumpkin and welcome to Bladeforums.

There may be people on this forum who can help you with your question, but you asked in the wrong section. There is a sub-forum here at Bladeforums specifically dedicated to knife making, and I will direct you there. :)

Scroll to the top of the screen and click on the white "Forum" button on the left side under the Bladeforums logo. That will take you to the forum directory. The second box down contains the knife making subforums. Click on "General Knife Maker's Discussion" and you are there.

Post your question in that subforum. There are a lot of very friendly and knowledgeable people there who will be happy to help you if they can.

I would suggest having a moderator move this thread over there, but since you're new here, you might not realize that your thread has been moved or where it was moved to.

Good luck in your search. Your boyfriend sounds like a lucky guy.
 
I'd talk to the guys at Dark Age Creations, they are on 42nd between macleod and blackfoot. Jamie is a bit of an interesting guy, but he'll know who is running courses, I'm sure.
