I know there are several piglets in the area and one or two hogs. There are at least 4 of us who live in San Jose, a couple on the peninsula and a couple others scattered in and around the area. Some of you are lurkers who dont post much and thats cool but now would be a good time to see some Infi that you were thinking about buying but wanted to check out first. We would need to decide on a time and a location which will be the tough part. There has been mention of maybe just a meet and greet at a restaurant or maybe do some shooting first then some dinning at a restaurant where we could get our room. Any ideas? Lets hear them.

I have an apartment in Mountain View so I could easily meet anywhere in the Bay Area with enough of a heads up. I usually head home to Austin on the weekends but with enough notice I could plan to stay in Nor Cal for our get together. Meet, greet, and meal at a restaurant sounds great. All my firearms are in Texas.

We should bill ourselves as the Norcal Busse Knife Collectors Club so the restaurants think we're legitimate and not freak out about the knives. :D

I'd like to do this and meet everyone, I'd go anywhere from S.F. to San Jose. But my schedule is kind of unpredictible and for me the best night would be a Sunday early evening, Monday or Thursdays.

But I'd just have to wait for you guys to set a date and then about a week before when my sch gets firm I can give a solid yes or no.

Do I need to bring anything?

Soda? Chips?...who am I kidding~ Beer, Scotch?.....INFI:confused:

Sounds very interesting :D

Hey guys. If you want to come up to SF we can meet up at TAD gear and get some soulfood after across the street. Or, I am opening a guiding/survival skills school, so if ya'all want to hit some trails I'd be game. I also am addicted to Kifaru gear if anyone is interested. Im down to only about 5 pieces of INFI now days. Im up for shooting if anyone has a spot in mind. And yes, I drink.

I was thinking that I really don't have any unusual Busses to show anyone. I may have to bring a VAC Tube amp, carbon fiber bicycle.... or something

Tony, It's just nice to be around people who dont look at you like your crazy for having a 700 knife...or two.

Kraz good to have you aboard.

Wuyeah your welcome to show if you want to make that long trip. :p

Tony, all kinds of knives are welcome, I like to see other makers models just to see what Im missing out on.

Matchgrade Im so out of shape I couldnt keep up with you and TonyG on a flat trail much less a one that goes up an down.

We will have to keep bumping this one up and see who chimes in so we can find some place as central as we can to everyone.

I'm game. I have no INFI and just waiting to order a SH1A when there up for order. And MAtchGrade when would you be opening up this survival skills school cause i would be interested if it's not to far from home.

May I humbly Suggest a trip to Monterey! Laguna seca has a Excellent range. Lots of good hotels in the Area. Great food. Easy to get around and park.

Make it a weekend get together. There are some local microbrews, and lots of awesome stuff to see.

Wow I didn't even realize that we have this many people in the bayarea that frequent this forum. I am pretty much game with anything as long as it is not ballet ;). Shooting, fishing, hiking, BSing, eating, etc.... is cool with me. I work 6days a wk and only have sundays off. But if given enough advance notice I will be able to take some time off. I'll be there for sure.

We can go to the outdoor Meltcalf range or even the Los Gatos Rod and Gun (Near Skyline Blvd) if you guys want to do some shooting. They both have pistol, rifle, and skeet ranges.

What would be really cool is to find a place where we can do some chopping with our knives. The only questin is Where????

I take it you are from that area ;)

I'm up for it. I'm in Sacramento so it's not to bad for me. The only day I can't do it is Sunday.

I might be up for taking pics of the cool knives you guys will bring. Let me know.

Definately, bring your camera if you show up

Sounds good to me. I'm currently in Silicon Valley, about halfway between San Jose and San Francisco.

Let's get together.

Hmmmmm....sounds like we got something cooking don't it? Shooting and knives...I dunno about going for both on the first outing, why don't we try a meet and greet for a show and tell of knives. Than maybe another get together for some powder burns. My reasoning here is that a day of shooting and than time for checking out knives may carve too much out of one day. Maybe we should break it up a little?

Location, location, location....I say we pick a state park that has plenty of breathing room, something that offers remote areas. We could make it an informal Pot Luck (burgers and dogs), BBQ up some grub and chop up some wood. Grant Ranch comes to mind, Henry Coe Park is pretty big (a little barren but huge), Henry Cowell is beautiful and has a few remote areas, Big Basin is another park that has some remote areas, if we want we could even go smaller if we can be discreet, say Anderson dam or Uvas reservoir even Santa Teresa Park has some areas where we could walk to from the main area and chop away. I think the main idea here would be that we need an area where we can do what we want (within reason) without being disturbed. Hell a vacant lot or warehouse would work but I personally would like something with a little more flavor.

Time frame...well weekends are always a lot busier at parks than during the week, but I would like to do something during the day and have plenty of time to do it without being rushed...so I'm thinking a Saturday or Sunday. Say mid day meet around noon...eat than chop! That way those that have to drive could leave in the morning and have plenty of time to get to the destination we decide on.

Just a little input on a great idea. BTW, sorry I wasn't able to get in touch with you on Friday Ban...the day got a little crazy.

I will be in the Napa Valley 7/23 - 7/29, if something is organized around then, in that area, I could bring a few "show and tell" knives.

Ok, why don't we decide on a date first. We can always work out the details as to where a little bit later. It sounds like the weekends are the most convenient for most of us....so that is a good start ;)

I am thinking we should have it on the weekend of 7/28-7/29. Either day is ok for me. I will just have to take a day off if it is on 7/28 (Saturday). It is 2wks away so it should give most of us enough time to make plans. Also, this way Ducci can get his butt over here and join us. Any Objections?????

OK, Let's Vote!!!

SATURDAY (7/28/07) or SUNDAY (7/29/07)

Wow this is great either day is good for me and as for location if you want a place to just get together I'd be willing to have it at my house I don't have a big yard but I am an aspiring knifemaker and do have pretty decent shop in the garage and enough room in the house for 10 to 15 folks and a decent BBQ in the back yard. Oh by the way I'm in Los Gatos.

Frogfish,

Aspiring knifemaker...That is great man! We definately need to hook up! I am just a wannabe knifemaker though. :o
