California Custom Knife Show

I sent them an email maybe 6 months ago or so, to send me out a reminder and if I recall correctly to purchase a ticket. I don't know though. That show just appear weak. Nothing on the website excited me. I'll check it out again before too long. I'd love to go to Blade but I don't see that happening next year. Who knows?
Maybe someone here has been to the CA Cus KS in the past and could give their opinion if it's worth passing up a good pizza or not.

It's definitely worth attending. I've been to 3... all the way from Fresno.

I'm definitely going. Last year was my first time and I don't plan on missing any from here on out.

Wait, you sent Plaza Cutlery an email telling them to remind you about the show? Are you serious? If that's true that is one of the rudest and most self-entitled things I've heard in several months. Forgive me if I'm reading what you wrote wrong or if there's a major typo that's creating the confusion!

Anyways, it's not a weak show, it's absolutely great. Ramon Chavez, Ernie Emerson, Les George, Rick Hinderer, Kirby Lambert, Matthew Lerch, Marifione Custom, Chad Nell, W.D. Pease, Darrel Ralph, Mick Strider, and Brian Tighe are just some of the people who will be there with their knives. It’s not a huge show but it’s awesome.

Haha. I don't think you should jump to those kinds of conclusions. As I said, maybe 6 months ago or so, as I remember, I responded to the website inquiry of something like; name, email address and we'll send a reminder with purchase instructions. Now brancron, this is all in remembrance. If I were telling this tomorrow, it would be a little different in detail. Please don't read into it what is not, and...yes I forgive you.;)

Glad you both give it a thumps up. Looking forward to a show in my neighborhood.

Oh! I just copied this from the website I looked at maybe 6 months ago:

To win the "One of a Kind" John Young Joel Chamblin Knife!!

We will have TWO joint projects for the show this year! Will announce the second one when I know it is about ready. If you have attend our show in the past, and receive the post card reminder in the mail just bring it to the show, and turn it into the front desk with your show admission. If you have not attended, or did not fill out the slip, please send your name, and address to show@plazacutlery.com and we will add you to the list and you will receive the card in the general mailing in September. Please bring the post card with you to the show, and deposit it the marked drawing box. If you can't make the show, sorry you will miss out! We will also have regular door prize drawings, please check the door prize board out front through the day. The advertising knives special door prize drawing on Sunday will be just before the Hinderer lottery.

POST CARDS WILL GO OUT MID SEPTEMBER

Sorry about that! The way I interpreted what you wrote painted such an outrageous picture that I was 80% sure it couldn't be the case. It would be hilarious, though, if you emailed them asking them to remind you of the show when it got nearer in time.

Another great knife show round these parts that I went to for the first time was the Knife Expo put on in March by the Southern California Blades Knife Collectors Club. It was held at the Pasadena convention center, and was also great.

Glad you enjoy it... I'm getting more and more excited! This is my first time going to a show... do you know of any more in California other than the Knife Expo mentioned above?

I'll be there. This will be my first year going so I'm looking forward to it and hoping it's good and I can pick something up ...

We went to the Calif. Custom Knife show the year it was in Pasadena. Perhaps, 2012. It was good. DM

I am going.

Stand Straight, it is worth going at least once. It is more of a custom makers show than manufacturers. There will be a few manufactures like Emerson and Chris Reeve.

I won't be going this year. Next year.

For those whove been, is this worth going to if I'm not currently into custom knives? Basically I'd go if some good deals on production knives or more expensive/bigger accessories could be had.

You won't be finding much of that, no.

Great show, lots of beautiful custom knives and I got to meet and chat with Zach Buchanan and Dave Ellis who were both very nice ... Also Dave Ellis showed my wife and I a Loveless baby bear in pearl... Which in itself made the trip totally worth it ... Highly recommend this show
