I have looked up california knife laws, but am still confused. Is it ok to own an automatic knife(ie. otf or stilleto)? Also is there a length limit to carry these(under 2")? If I can own the otf in my home, can I take them outside? Is that where the 2 inch rule takes effect? I would also like to know if I am allowed to own a balisong in my home. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-Thanks!

I answered these questions for you in the thread you posted over in the switchblade forum. With several links to the California penal code.

To add to what I posted there, and to answer your new question about taking the knife outside your home, technically that would make it "carrying on your person", and I believe that would be a technical violation of CA penal code 21510.

Naturally the chances of a cop coming onto your property and finding the knife on you is very unlikely, but I would not advise you to do something that is technically a violation of the law. The choice is entirely yours.
