i've read about the california knife laws but want to interpret the definition into simplier terms. im talking about folding knives. what is the law on that? not automatics/switchblade. what is the legal length? it has to be visible? not concealed?

Here's a link to a site with the clearest information I have found so far:
http://www.ninehundred.com/~equalccw/knifelaw.html

In a nut shell, no restriction on blade length, it may be concealed folded, and spring assisted knives are legal as long as they have a "snap to lock" type spring or bar. Gravity knives and butterflies are not legal.
Each city might have its own ordinance for residents, but I don't belive that people passing through are subject to these local ordinances, because state law supercedes local laws for non residents.

I've looked at this one, too,but it was last updated in 2002. I'm thinking that the laws may have changed (i.e., become more restrictive, since that's pretty much how it works, epecially here in CA) since those days.

Anyone know where we can look up the actual text of the law itself?
