California Shipping Question, for residents or anyone who knows.

I've been googling California Knife laws today to determine if there is any law prohibiting shipping of a 5" dagger to the state, but haven't found anything definite. I've seen several online dealers won't ship to California, but don't know if that is just their policy or what. I came across some links regarding packaging but those were also unclear. Anyone know any of the legalities involved with this?

Thanks

I just realized this should probably be in the Knife laws section, I overlooked it. Sorry

Look at Cold Steel's website. They are located in Ventura. If it is not legal in California it will ship from their Texas site. This should give you a rough indication of what is ok for CA.

I dont think it will be a problem. If the dealer wont ship to Cali, chances are thats their policy. I have had no problem getting push daggers, balis, and autos shipped to me. We dont really have any laws against owning types of knives...just carrying them in public.

There aren't any laws prohibiting the shipping of fixed blades of any kind to CA.

(an aside)

There aren't to TN either, but Sportman's guide won't ship any "knife" that's 4" long or more to TN, not even a fillet knife.
They'll ship machetes, but not swords Will ship "kitchen knives" in sets but generally not individually if over 4", go figger.

We have a four inch limit on "normal carry" is only real state law that we can figure they are misinterpreting. Of course exception is made in law for hunting/fishing/camping/etc.
