Mr. Rinaldi and Mr. March both have valid points.
I know in Maryland, things are so arbitrary when it comes to knives it is not even funny.
You speak with one Officer and they'll tell you that your clip carried knife in the pocket, with the clip exposed is concealed. "I can't tell what that is..."
Even though you have seen 15 other guys on his Department have clip-carried folders in their pockets.
And, what about in the winter and a cool spring or fall? You have a jacket, boom, it's concealed.
Some Officers, and I have heard it directly from their mouths, consider a lock blade knife "Offensive." Meaning, "weapon."
Other Officers consider any knife with the capability to be opened with one hand as a Switchblade, way ahead of California Legislators. They are looking at the SPIRIT of the Switchblade Law and not the letter of the law. And the SPIRIT of the law was to ban pocket knives that could be opened with one hand.
So, when you begin to see the floodgates open, and you are faced with being arrested over a pocketknife...
Or they are going to try to tell you what type of firearm you can own, or an ammunition feeding device [their term for "magazine"], maybe it is time to get out of Dodge.
California is facing some severe problems this summer, because of radical environmentalists...and all they can do is blame it on other people who had nothing to do with it. They made their bed, now they are blaming someone that goes by the nickname of "Dubya" for their own wrinkles in the bed [radical stupidity].
California Liberals love to support nonsense Gun and Knife Legislation, then when things get nasty and their State turns to a Landfill...they run to Colorado, Montana, anywhere they can, and begin to legally dismantle freedom in their next place of residence.
I know I have to leave this State, I'm simply outnumbered here. I would imagine the same is true for California.
It's all a personal call if you want to stay and fight or simply leave and go some place where you can have a greater degree of freedom.
I don't fault either viewpoint.
