Can someone explain the premise of the Ayoob's blade being tipped way down? Very interesing and I kindof like it but it is also just strange...thanks a bunch

With a design that radical I'm not certain this applies, but generally with a fighting knife a downward tilt of the blade relative to the handle is supposed to give more power, while an upward tilt is supposed to give more speed (I say "supposed" because I haven't been in a statistically significant number of knife fights so as to be able to say with certainty ;) .... and hoping that never changes. )

I am pretty certain, however, that this design will prevent anyone from using it much in the kitchen.

From what I remember, it was designed with firearms owners in mind, and as such with the blade at that angle, thrusting is done in a more "natural" motion, no need to cock the wrist or anything. I think it might also produce deeper slashes, due to the angle.

In other cases, like a kukri, the downward cant also allows for a better chopping ability, but evidently that won't work here because of the lightness of the blade.

I also believe it has to do with being able to better slash the wrist of someone who is holding your arm.

The blade is shaped that way because that's the way Mas designed it.:D.

Th232 is exactly right...kinda hard to argue with Glockman's reasoning as well :D
