Ok, I have the sprint Sanyo 8100 phone, not huge but by no means small. I love the phone, but find it too big to fit in my pocket. I know there have been threads on this before, but I'mm looking for something specific: smaller thanthe maxpedition. I bought the maxpedition, but when I attach it to my belt it bulges out in a very conspicuous way. the holsters the phone company offers seem very weak. If there is anything like the maxpedition, just much thinner, that would be the ticket ie: very sturdy, no velcro or glue required, horizontal or vertical. It doesn't have to be specifically made for a cell phone.

Good luck!!! I've come to the conclusion that they make those things to break easly. I'm on my 6th one in a year and and half. The last one I bought lasted 2 days. The one I have now seems to be a good one. It's a bo bo brand that I got from a cell phone store a couple weeks ago.

How about one with lead shielding... I just saw on the news yesterday that supposedly cell phones on belt holsters somehow lower sperm count.

I went through a similar search trying to find a pouch for my Motorola T720. Eventually I ran across a reference to The Pouch here on BF and dropped them a note. I ended up with exactly what I wanted!

The Pouch makes everything custom. You give them a set of dimensions and they build it to fit. They offer a couple different types of belt attachment standard, but they were quite willing to do horizontal belt loops for me when I asked.

Neoprene is great for this sort of stuff. It provides protection without taking up much room and it is very tough. For low-profile hard-use pouches these are hard to beat.

The one I use is from The Home Depot.

It is the CLC brand small cellphone holder, in black ripstop cloth, similar to the stuff maxpedition uses.

It is very durable, and holds my phone well. (Motorola T-721) It has a metal beltclip, as well as a loop. I carried my old Star-tac in one for almost 2 years, and the velcro finally began to weaken. The case was still in great shape.

Best part? It was only $4.99.

I have a nice holder that I purchased from DeSantis Gunhide, a handgun holster manufacturer. Sturdy clip (I was negative on clips until I purchased this one) and cordura, velcro construction. Everyday use now for several years and it's holding up well. Padded a little also so it does cushion the phone slightly.

I bought a "Pouch" for my Yaesu handhelds. Wasn't happy with the quality so I sold it. I have a small Motorola phone and found a Timbuk2 pouch that's PERFECT. Nice quality, very compact, and carries horizontally (or vertical) on my belt. I love it and have had it for about a year so far with no signs of wear. Google for it.

What were your problems with it? I've been entirely impressed with the two I have, but I'm interested in hearing other experiences.

I've been using a couple of the NiteIze products, specifically this CASE if your phone is of the larger variety.

I just got a Samsung x426 and I'm starting the search for a new case myself.

I bought one like the above; it comes with a crappy little flashlight and a small caribiner. You can also use it with the belt loop, vertical or horizontal. It cost $6 at my local Home Despot, made by "workforce"?
