Calling all Canadians - where to buy Arcteryx packs? Factory Outlet?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a Arcteryx RT55 in Pelican Blue. What is the Canadian online equivalent of REI, Backcountry.com or Altec.com?

I would have used MEC (absolutely wonderful), but they don't carry the RT55 model. They can be had for under CAD250 I'm told, instead of US$299.

Thing is, Arcteryx is so much cheaper when bought and shipped w/i Canada.

Also, I remember reading somewhere on BF that someone lived near the place where Arcteryx has huge factory sales et al. I wonder if anyone knows/remembers where that place is?

Anyone has pro-deal discounts with Arcteryx, and can help me secure the pack?

Hey!

I don't have much good news for you. However, perhaps one of the British Colombian forumites can help you out. The Arc. factory has a "seconds" sale every year I believe, where things like items of the wrong color, items that had a flaw in construction that are subesquently fixed up, etc. are sold off. My sister got a pack of he wrong color for something like half price. My bro-in-law got a pack that had a hole in a divider or some spot liek that, which was patched up. Again, I think it was half price or some such thing. Perhaps a BC forumite can grab you a pack from them and then send it out.

There are lots of Canadian dealers that carry Arc. packs. I live smack in the middle of semi-arid desert, so there ain't much in the way of back packs and hiking gear here, so I can't help much. Try linking this question in the Canadian forum, though you may get more bites right here.

also, I understand the Arcteryx Factory Store is in Vancouver, BC.

Anyone have pro-deals? Understand it's wholesale price less a further 30 percent off. I will pay you a little more for your trouble.

You can try the dealer locater on the Arcteryx site http://www.arcteryx.com/index_lo.html Some of the stores that sell them, like Valhalla Pure Outfitters, have lousy websites, but if you go through the dealer list by province you can call or email to see what they have and what price. The internet sales page lists only Americans from what I can see. Hope that helps.
 
The Arxteryx Factory Outlet is in Vancouver off the Grandview Highway. However, the pickings are slim and you will be lucky to get the exact item. All items have minor defects but in my opinion, still in good to excellent condition. You have to go often to get what you want, otherwise, they have a mish-mash of backpacks and clothing.

Go to Valhalla Pure and ask them to order one for you if they can get it.
