Hey, how do you like them? I noticed that the Danglers are in a thinner steel-.134".

Have you used them? Does it cut better than the thicker Greco's?

I have held off on them because they were so cheap ($55)to begin with, but lately I'm itching for a thinner utility FB.

Let me know what you guys think of them...

Thanks-

Mongrel

Just so that you are fully aware, the $50 price is a special that is being offered only until July 9th (or so I think, see his web site for actual details) and is a limited to a stock on hand arangement. Also, don't be afraid of the price the knives are handmade and normally in the $150 range.

And no I am not affiliated with John or his knives in any way other than a owner of one of his folders.

Hello Mongrel,
I picked up a Greco Dangler from another forumite recently...I like the size of the knife and it is built like a tank. I have one of Greco's larger blades and was very impressed with it which is why I wanted something smaller to carry in the woods. I think Greco's knives are a great value....but expecially at the price they are being offered on sale.

Since June 16, I have purchased 6 Greco hand-made knives - each at the "$50 Sale" inducement! The "value-to-cost" ratio is fantastic. Get 'em NOW, folks! You won't regret it.

I ordered a Baby Whisper from CQC. It is a nice knife for $60 ($50 + $10 shipping). It has a really nice pouch sheath with it, too. It shipped the same day I ordered it and I got an e-mail notification almost immediately telling me they had received the order and when it would ship. That is not a real big deal, but I have ordered a lot of stuff where I got no acknowledgement whatsoever. Even if something is not going to ship right away, it is nice to know the order was received.

Appreciate the replies gentlemen, thanks for your input.

Now the clarification...

I'm aware of the CQC sale-yes they are great deals, too good in fact! :D

As of late I have chosen three Greco's to carry\use-Cub Companion, MST II-5, and the Falcon folder.

The Cub and the Falcon are both .210" thick steel, 01 and 8670 respectively, and the MST II is 1/4" A2 steel.

My question is whether or not someone who has used the thicker bladestock Greco knives has also used the thinner (.134") bladestock Danglers?

It has become very obvious\very fast to me that thicker bladestock knives are not as efficient slicers\cutters as the thinner stocked knives I am used to. I'm sure many members here are already aware of this, so forgive my ignorance. To put this in perspective my thickest FB prior to owning the Greco MST was a KA-BAR USMC fighting knife, followed by an Ontario Mil-Spec machete. My thickest blade folder before I picked up the Falcon?-the BM AFCK.

This brings us back to the Greco Danglers-seems that the much thinner .134" bladestock would naturally be a more efficient EDC type utility blade, while the heavier\thicker knives would be more suited to a combat\survival\SD role.....

I'd really like to see John offer two versions of his more popular sellers-one in .210" and one in .134" (or even 1/8")

Opinions?

sorry to drag this out :(

I used mine just today, a dangler semi skinner. I sharpened it on the 204, takes an incredble edge. The knife is deeply hollow ground, has thinner stock and cuts way better than my 3/16" Grecos. It is a nice size for a fixed blade EDC knife.
