Calling all SFV Knife Nuts!

If you live in the San Fernando Valley and you consider yourself a knife nut....let's meet and talk knives!

A bunch of us on another thread have realized we are SFV locals and we're planning to get together for our first meeting of SFV Knife Knuts. Just figured it would be nice to meet some of the others in our area that share an interest in knives. I suppose trades or transactions could stem from it, but most importantly we will meet people with a shared interest and put some faces to the names we chat with on the forum.

Details are still being worked out. The location and date are in the planning stages right now. Tentatively thinking about doing this mid-June. Maybe at the Sagebrush Cantina...maybe elsewhere....will let you know shortly.

First though....we are looking to find out how many people are interested. Although we are calling this a meeting for SFV knife nuts, anyone considering them self a local to the area and "nuts" about knives is invited.

Please respond by telling us if you have any interest in meeting so that we can get an approximate head-count for planning the venue size. I'll update this thread with more details as we make progress.

We are considering June 9th or June 11th.

I will be contacting Recon 1 on Thursday to see if they will be joining us as well.

Mark me as a tentative in! Sagebrush would be nice, I work in Agoura Hills so it's right on the way for me.

I'll post more details as we make more progress...

By the way...I'm not trying to steal the show here...I'm just trying to help get the ball rolling. If anyone wants to give input, help set it up or whatever, feel free.
 
Man, I hate the Sagebrush Cantina....but hey, been awhile since I saw a mullet.

I've organized a couple of local knife nut meetings in the past...at Jerry's Deli, Encino...and Jerry's was cool with it. And they are often mostly empty after dinner time, mid week. Just fyi. They even have a private room in the back I'd look into if there was enough interest.

Honestly, the first place thought of was Jerry's...it's also close to Recon1. I have had impromptu business meetings there as well. I only suggested Cantina for the casual outdoor atmosphere. I'm open to whatever sounds good to the group.

Maybe we should see if anyone else wants to suggest a location and then open it up to a vote?

I'm thinking we give everyone until Sunday to suggest any place they would prefer and then we vote on the suggested locations...but if everyone is cool with Jerry's we can just call it confirmed.
 
I'm in the South Bay, but I might make the drive if you guys make it worth my while ;)

The nice thing about Jerry's is that smokers won't be subjected to the draconian smoking in public laws that they'd have to deal with at sagebrush

LOL! That would be awesome! I'm sure you'd get a few odd looks at the deli..but it sure would amuse the hell out of me! The biggest issue with that look is you might have to carry a Gerber....Ugh! ;)
