One of the things that adds to anybody's sharpening skill using any method, is the accumulation of knowledge and attention paid to the experiences of others.
To this end Clay over at the Wicked Edge has developed a database or Wiki if you like, for the use of all WEPS owners to add sharpening details based on their experiences with their knives. See here:
http://www.wickededgeusa.com/index.php?option=com_joodb&view=catalog&Itemid=94

There are a variety of sections for: edge angles used, stones used and the stone progression, the steel used in the blade and many other spots to give details about your knives such as blade length, thickness, edge geometry and so on.There is also room for comments on your method used or just interesting details on the knife you posted.
I just took a look at it and it is easy to see that this information accumulated here, will assist everyone who sharpens with the WEPS and even those who use other methods and are wondering about edge angles and edge geometries that are being used on knives like theirs. I am going to get my data organized and add it to this great Wiki. I have had my WEPS for 2 years now, so this is a good excuse to gather all my data together and put it to good use.
Take a look and maybe you will add your accumulated knowledge to this important database.

Best regards to all
Leo

BTW, I would like to emphasize that the information that is being gathered on this database can be of value to anyone who sharpens knives by any method. The data on angles, steels and edge geometries alone are important to all sharpeners, especially if you happen to own the particular knives mentioned.
Looking costs nothing and you may find yourself following the growth of this Wiki whether you own/use a WEPS or not.

Best to all
Leo

Thanks so much for the link. I have a wicked edge and love it. I keep learning and leaning and this is a great resource. Thanks again.

You are very welcome Bill! It is good to hear you love your WEPS. You are correct IMO that this database is a wonderful resource and the great thing is that every time someone adds another set of data, it becomes even more valuable. Clay made a good move when he developed this Wiki.

Best regards mate
Leo

This database was born from customer requests for a central location for blade data. Now that it's live, it's growing quickly and becoming a great resource. Please do jump on when you can and add your knife settings!

Thanks for the link leomitch. Good info. Just picked up a WE after using a friends.
