I've got a pair of John Grimsmo scales for my Para 2 and I love them, but the previous owner scotch-brighted them to a nice polish. They're nice and shiny like raw aluminum. I'm wondering what it will take to get them back to that nice matte dark grey look and feel; like you see on Sebenzas and the Sage II.
Is it a matter of sandblasting, beadblasting, chemical etching?
Any ideas? Thanks.

Could also maybe stone wash them with smaller scale grit in a plastic peanut butter jar. Also could maybe swing by just about any small machine shop and ask if they could give them a spray in their blasting box. Can't imagine it would cost more than a few bucks.. I'd probably do it on a friday afternoon with an iced down six pack in a bag all inside a cardboard box.... Just a thought.
