You ok brother!?

Anyone have contact lately?

Please let me know either way, getting worried.

Yep... thanks for the concern. Appreciated, sincerely.

Long story, short: My stepmom (we were close, stepmom for forty years and a fantastic g'parent to my kids) was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last Fall. She went thru six rounds of chemo over the winter and by Spring was feeling better and the doctors were optimistic. When I saw her in the end of April, she was feeling quite good. (They live in Knoxville.) Mid-May Dad told me she wasn't feeling well and the doctors were exploring. A week later, they confirmed the cancer was back and there was nothing they could do other than keep her comfortable until the inevitable end, which would come in 3-6 months.

We traveled there immediately after the completion of the Indy 500 and spent several days... this was the last week she was coherent. Months became days as her prognosis became more pessimistic. I cancelled plans for Blade and was in Knoxville 4 days out of every 7 for the month of June. She passed on the Saturday of Blade Show at 1520. I was with her at the end and spent the ensuing weeks helping my Dad (78 but still healthy and riding his Harley) sort all the details.

He is doing better now - at least he has maintained rudder control over life. I'm glad my kids were able to be there her last coherent week and am glad I was able to be there throughout the process.

I missed you guys! I'm jumpstarting my way back into my online communities!
