Fellas, I need someone who can retro-fit a powerful spring onto my Busse folder.

After seeing ronybear's pics, the only way I can top him is to have the world's first Busse automatic 9" blade.

Once your finished with it I think I'd send it back to the shop to have the hinge coated to match the rest of the knife:D

Does anyone else think a bungee cord might be quieter and therefore more stealthy?

Hmmm... gravity assist with a spring-loaded latch on the other side. I see where you're going with this.

Well, I know I can cut the blade in half and weld the hinge on, but I think you should use one of the door hinges that has the spring already built in, it would be more compact that way. The lock-up would be the tricky part. This would be waaaaaay too complicated for Horton, but he could make it shiny for you! LOL!!! :D

.

randucci, I already have the blade chopped in half and the hinge mounted. That is an actual pic and not a Chop.

Horton was talking about installing a fancy European hinge with a robotic, remote-controlled arm.

However you do it I can see the fighters practicing the smack and slash already.

Maybe some type of modified gate lock on the other side would lock it down, just be careful with the reach around when disengaging.
