I just need a bit of help on a FEW knives to get some specs I need to finish out my list: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=736811

If you have access to an "ACCURATE" digital scale (and calipers for a couple that need confirmation of thickness as noted below), PLEASE help by posting the weights for any of the following you might have

Cool thanks. I assume you meant 0.135" thick.

I had put down 0.15" thick on the list for the new 2010 Rat Warden as someone else had posted 0.15" thick for the new Warden - But, I don't know if that measurement was "Accurate" and per calipers.

The old 2007 Rat Warden was supposed to be .1875" thick per Swamp Rat (???). Someone had posted 2.2 ounces for the old Rat Warden, but that sounded too light for a .1875" thick Rat Warden. And now if you are saying at 0.135" thick for the new Rat Warden and at 2.2 ounces (which sounds about right on weight), I still need confirmation of the 2007 Rat Warden's weight. I suspect the 2007 Rat Warden should weigh closer to 2.5 ounces or so (????)

WOW... I didn't realize the HG55 would weigh so much more than the Urban Grudge. I have the UG, but not the HG55. In looking closer at pics, I guess a lot of that extra weight must be in the handle AND the HG55 appears to have a taller blade. The UG handle is much slimmer and cut down. Originaly, I assumed with the HG55 only being about 1/4" larger, I figured there might only be about an ounce difference - until you posted the weight and I looked closer at comparing the handles and blade heights.

UG 9.365 ounces
HG55-LE 11.5 ounces.

I wonder if there is much weight difference for the CBT Military version?

Nice, I like this thread. I that there should be a running list of the weight of Busse knives somewhere for sure. A prime example is the Internal Affair. It's a large knife with a small weight, and you could never tell by just looking at the pics.
 
Which BA3 are we talking about, there were quite a few variations.

Keep in mind the Le is convex ground vs later HG 55's that were flat ground and much lighter than the LE. I think the UG's were made from the flat ground blanks of the HG55 so I think that would give you a better comparison:thumbup:

Also, keep in mind that weights and thicknesses of Busse knives, especially those weighing more than a pound, may vary by an ounce or more, and .01"+/- thickness or more, from knife to knife depending on the model.

Yeah, I posted 2.2 for the Rat Warden but didn't account for the old weight or difference in thickness. Mine is the new variety. I didn't realize until after the weigh in that they have different specs :o:o

I forgot the LE's were convex. Between convex, larger handles and taller blade, that all starts to add up and sounds about right. :thumbup:

I like my UG. :thumbup:

Thanks for confirming that. I think I did pick up your numbers.
For now, I am guessing about 2.5 ounces on the older Rat Warden. I notated the list with "est."
Confirmation would be good to get on the weight for the thicker 2007 version, but I would bet 2.5 ounces is likely within a tenth of an ounce or so.

I notated on the page with the chart a couple of disclaimers in particular about weight.

As you say, the larger knives in particular can vary a bit. Things like micarta vs. G10 typically vary an ounce or even more. Mag scales and other factors all cause variances. I have tried my best to notate as specifically as possible.

I would be happy to extend my Busse Specs and weight list, but I haven't been able to find weight on many of the more obscure Busse's.

Even the other specs sights are missing most of the Busse "Weights".

Currently, my list is mostly of more common Busse blades, along with Swamp Rats and Scrap Yards.

If Jerry would like me to re-arrange it to post on this forum, I can. Or stick in in Thatmguy's existing sticky: "Important Busse Information Consolidation Sticky!!!" But, then IMO, ideally, the title of that thread might be changed to "Important Busse Information, Weights and Specs Sticky!!!"
