These look incredibly cool and I'm assuredly going to end up with at least one and probably more (GRN looks great for a backup in the cars, and that natural micarta pro is calling to me). But before my trigger finger gets too itchy, I thought I might see if the awesome @skblades had anything up their sleeves. I feel silly buying the same knife too many times in a row, so...;)

Hows about it? Any hints?

C'mon, you guys. This knife is screaming out for someone *cough* to do one in carbon fiber. We've ALREADY had two micarta versions.
didnt think about that, but now that ya brought it to my attention.....good idear.

if we could get one of the micartas in cpm154 I'd be all over it. prefer it a bit over s30v myself.
And if they did the GRN in it and the price is even remotely close to the Smoke Jumper I think it would basically be the best value for a solid work knife on the market.

It seems like there are quite a few directions they could go with these, and while the base models seem awesome, but I'm always down for some SKblade special sauce on my Bucks.

Oooh. Maybe marbled carbon fiber. Maybe even with a single set of bolsters? I know that would bump the weight up, but it would be one classy sun of a gun.

yep. upgraded steel in the frn, grn whatever fiberglass reinforced plastic is it....at a low price point....all win for us.

20cv with the micarta would be sweet. Carbon fiber is nice. 20cv and or cpm154 with the GRN at a good price would be reason to buy multiples. Lots of good options. :D
we got to be careful...well get the poll.......:)

Ohhhhh, a 501 with carbon fiber covers? That sounds REALLY nice as long as it has both bolsters. I am not a fan of the bare head look. All of the blade steels discussed sounds good to me.

Yeah, blasphemous though it may be I never really 'got' the appeal of carbon fiber. Until I saw them put the marbled stuff on knives. Then it clicked.

Check out shred carbon fibre for another really cool nonstandard pattern.

I do wonder though if shred/marble cf lacks the strength of weaved cf. without the strength of the weave is it not relying on the strength of the epoxy (or polymer, whatever it is) for the strength?

Presumably the fibres should still provide some strength like in frn or zytel the fibres are mixed in randomly and still provide alot of support.

However on marbled cf there seems to be alot of area where from what I can see at the surface there are no fibres.

Either way a slim linerless 112 in some type of cf where there is no bladeplay issue I would be all over it.
