I received my Caly 3 today from NGK. Once again, outstanding service from an outstanding company! As has been said before, in a word, WOW, pretty much describes the Caly 3. It is a bit smaller than I expected, but that is ok. It has been described as Delica size and that is pretty much right on. I have been carrying the Para for the last several months and have really grown attached to that knife. That said, the Caly 3 is in my pocket now and I think will be staying there for a long time. It practically disappears there. With the clip used on the Caly, it sits very low in the pocket and when putting my hand in my pocket, I dont even feel it there. I have grown used to the tip down of the Para, but I really prefer the tip up position and the Caly 3 does that very nicely! Comparing the Caly 3 and the Para, side by side, in the closed position, the Para is a fair amount bigger and also feels so in the pocket. In the open position though, the Para is still bigger, but the actual blade is only about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch longer. Not that much really. The Caly feels very strong and good in the hand. Fit and finsh is first rate on this one! It is also very sharp, as they always are from Spyderco.
I am not much of a reviewer, we will have to wait for Scott and Wouter to do that, but I will leave you with some pictures. This knife is a home run IMHO and I think its going to be extremely popular. Awesome job Sal and Spydero. I love it!!!! Thank you.
