Caly 3 CF Clarification

Is the Caly 3 CF going to be discoed as well? Lots of assumptions and rumors running around so an official confirmation or denial would be awesome. :thumbup:

(Although a Caly 4 with all screw construction + choil from the UKPK would be an awesome consolation!)
 
I am aware of that- but since doubt has been raised by various spydie fans I think alot of us would like a definitive confirmation rather than conjecture or assumptions.

The key argument raised is the g-10 spydie being discoed while the CF staying in the line up. Some people find it improbable- Hence the clarification ;)

Something tells me we will not have an answer until the new catalog comes out next month
 
Aside from the "Kopa Series" entry, the "drop list" enumerated each specific SKU that was being dropped. The CF Caly 3 has a separate SKU number from the G-10 version. Said SKU was not on the drop list. Just because the CF version's retention in the lineup seems illogical to fans of the G-10, who have no real knowledge of the comparative sales of the two versions, does not make it untrue. For that matter, we do not even know for sure that the G-10 version will no longer be made. At this point, that's just another assumption. The C48GP UKPK was on the 2007 drop list. It was replaced in the 2008 catalog by the orange and foliage green versions. While it's possible the G-10 Caly 3 may be gone, at this point it's equally possible it has been selected for colorization. I know I've not yet given up hope the Kiwi will just be there wearing a different set of scales in 2010.

I'm with Paul on this one.

I don't think the Caly 3 in CF will be discontinued.

I also do think that the Caly 3 may remain around but it may have Micarta handles, or it may end up in FRN with skeletonized liners. Who knows.

I currently have the Caly III CF in my pocket right now and just love it. :)
 
I'm hoping it will stick around, but I hedged my bets and picked up an extra just in case. I know it's on sale at one retailer, something usually reserved for products that are being phased out. Maybe they're just overstocked, time will tell.

Edit: I see it's on sale at three different major retailers.

At least a couple sellers have been deeply discounting, among other items, the Rock Salt, Aqua Salt, CF Stretch II, and both the live blade and trainer versions of the G-10 SmallFly. Like the CF Caly 3, none of them are on the discontinued list either.

The CF Caly3 with ZDP-189 and the CF Stretch with ZDP-189 are both still stock models for 2010. :D
