I recently acquired a Caly 3.5 Super Blue here on the forums and decided to play with it a bit. I put on a convex edge (not too hard with such a thin blade) and polished it off a bit. A question to the folks out there: If I keep the blade polished or polish it up to a finer grit, will that help keep the patina and corrosion off those surfaces?

Thanks as always!

Here is my work so far:

Oh boy...wrong forum.

Would the moderators kindly put me in General Discussions. Sorry about that.

Haha. Oops!

In answer to your question, yes. The rougher the surface of a knife, the easier it is to stain/patina it. A really fine mirror polish will be a bit less likely to stain.
