I have a CF Caly 3. Great knife! If I had to nit pick it would be that the tension on the back lock is stiff on this knife compared to my Stretch. I think it's because of leverage. The mechanism is just shorter. But this tends to make the pivot on the Caly 3 feel tight when opening but in reality it's just the back lock torsion making it feel tight. You know the pivot is not overly tight however, when you close the knife because it pops right into a closed position with a snap, again due to the back lock torsion.
The Caly 3 is a perfect EDC size and allows for one handed thumb opening without adjusting your grip or choking up like you would on a longer knife and I plan to keep it forever but as action goes, I prefer the stretch or Sage. Those two knives can be opened in a single thumb/wrist whip motion even if that is not necessary. My Caly 3 is going to need a lot of use and loosening up before it will ever do that, if it ever will.
P.S. Steel types aside, I really like the Sage because it is such a great knife at nearly half the cost of the Stretch II or Caly 3. I got mine for less than $85. Nearly half the cost of most of Spyderco's CF knives. And the lock up on the current liner lock model is rock solid. Sounds like you're cocking a gun when it snaps open like a Military does but with a different pitch.
