Hello,

A new to me Caly3 CF landed into my hands.

I removed the blade to clean and lube with my prefer lube and there are no bronze bushings?

Is this normal?

TIA

Absolutely normal. Moki, the Caly's maker, does not use pivot washers in any of their knives.

This is normal. It keeps the knife very slim. You will see marks on the blade from opening it because of this, and this, too, is normal.

You know, the Caly3 is pretty amazing. It is exactly the same size and thickness as the slim Ken Onion designed Leek. Yet, the Caly3 is a more capable knife and it is much stronger. When I bought my Caly3 it was specifically to replace a Leek. I loved the size and slenderness of the Leek but got tired of the extra lock needed to keep it closed in my pocket and still it would sometimes come open. I had to keep a constant check on that. The Caly3 came in at the same dimensions, with better steel, a better lock, and better blade security (a bias towards close). Wonderful knife.

Never having handled one I didn't realize the Caly 3 was that thin. Makes me want to look for a C3 G10 even harder.

Got my super blue caly 3 from a friend that didnt need it after acquiring a couple CRKs. Abolutely love it. The patina is wild.

I've had my Caly 3.5 CF for two years and EDC it regularly. A really "under the radar" knife, being thin and the wire clip. You know you have a solid well-built knife in your hand that holds an edge really well (ZDP) with exceptional fit of all components. My favorite Spydee of the few I own (Southard, Gayle Bradley, PM2).

FWIW, the G-10 version is a hair thicker than the CF (.367" vs .363"). To put both in perspective, the FRN Delica 4, which has a thinner blade, is thicker (.394"). OTOH, if you want a really slender midlock, consider the Chaparral. The CF version is .345" and the "stealth" ti a mere .312" thick.

Thanks! I already have a CF Chaparral.

I scored on a CHEAP Caly3 ZDP Carbon Fiber.

During cleaning I thought that I lost the bushings
or they were glued into the liner walls.O they simply MIA.

Someone abused the hell out of it.

It has been FIXED cosmetically and the ZDP is Scary sharp.

Till now. I have never handled a Caly3 and the blade size called me.
Now I am very happy that I did.

A Delica killer.... BM 940 killer...

CALY3 I like a lot

Honestly, the lack of washers (and non inset liners) are my biggest complaints re: the caly series. I'm a much bigger fan of the FRN UKPK series- lighter, thinner, slimmer blade stock, easier to close one-handed, and the drop point blade is even lower profile in pocket.
