Hi!

I'm looking for a new EDC, and I've been looking a lot at these two. They are about the same price and I really like the looks of both.

Which one would you recommend? It will be used mainly for light work around the house and at work, but I would still like to be able to rely on it in tougher situations.

I'm also open for other suggestions. I want a ~3" blade for ~$150.

I think for your needs, both will be very good choices. I wouldnt call either a work horse of a knife but they are nice slicers. Very sharp and great for cutting. I actually havent had a chance to use the bradley but I own a vg10 caly 3 and it is a very good knife.

Personally, however, im much more of a fan of slightly larger blades with a little more beef but thats another story heh

Thank you Thalestin, but is there really no one here who owns, or has atleast tried both these knives and could tell me their impressions?

I'm starting to get itchy fingers here ;)

After spending thousands of bucks on knives over the years, I've found my soulmate blade in the Bradley Alias I. I'm so satisfied with this knife that I've stopped shopping for blades - - much to my wife's relief. The handle is very comfortable, the finish is excellent, and the blade action smooth and solid. Blade material, S30V steel, takes a hair poppin edge without making you break a sweat, and holds the edge well. I'm a fan of S30V and 154CM, and enjoy the crystalline lattice you can see in surface of these steels. My Alias I is always my EDC, unless I'm painting or cutting something like sandpaper - - then I switch to my BM Pika (also a very good knife for the money). Don't want to scratch the Alias blade or muck the handle with paint. Otherwise, I use this knife on a daily basis from cooking chores, to gardening, camping and hunting, to field work (I'm a field biologist), to slicing up cardboard for recycling. When cleaning out our rental house, I must have cut a mile of cardboard. The blade was HOT after I cut up and filled two large totes with cardboard that day. Yes, the edge showed some wear, but 30 seconds with the crock stick and it was shaving hair off my arm again. I've owned this knife eight months now, and am very, very pleased with it. It’s seen my Edge Pro only once in this time period, to dress up the edge bevels after months of use, otherwise the crock stick keeps it wicked sharp.

Best $206 I ever invested in a folding pocket knife.

These knives are talked about so highly by everybody, I may have to get one. Though I wonder why if they are so good BM doesn't put them under there own line of knives. or why they don't brand it a Benchmade. I'm saving for one.

highly by everybody

Well not everybody. ;)

why they don't brand it a Benchmade

Benchmade had their own, but the time wasn't right and it was discontinued. Someone named Bradley conceived the time was right and contracted Benchmade to make them, I'm presuming.

as an owner of a cf caly 3 I'll throw in my two cents. The caly is a beautiful knife that is scary sharp and one I never tire of carrying
