Hey Sal, if the Calypso 3 is a big hit will you consider making a larger version? I would love a Calypso 3 but maybe a slightly larger version would be even better? How about a 3 1/2" blade and a over all length of about 8"? Make it about the size of the R-2 and I think you will have a perfect knife.

Geez I am knife poor already don't make another one that I will have to have. The Caly 3 is on my emergency must have list. The Caly 4 would be too.

Heck, why not just remake the C54 Calypso with 9 1/8" of sleek beauty? And this time with a ZDP or S30V blade and glossy carbon fiber scales?

I was talking about something about 7/8th the size of the orginal C-54 but with liners and G-10. I think that would make a much better knife. The C-54 was a nice knife, I owned a PE one that I wish I never sold. It was not very strong though. Also the blade of the C-43 was just a tad too long. When you pulled it out, it felt like people would be afraid. It is amazing what 1/2" less blade will do for the sheeple.

I am surprised that the idea of a larger Calypso has not made more of a splash. I consider a Calypso a good design but a little small. I would love to see one that you could get all your fingers around and that had a blade that was long enough for more tasks. I want a blade that is long enough to cut a large apple in two with one cut. I want a handle that feels like it was made for an adult male.

Need an inch added to the blade and handle and I would be happy. Just add 2" overall and you have a great EDC that can do anything the Delica or Endura can do but do it better.

Is this any different to compare of what Slatts said?
I like both ideas, but do not see any difference.

Can only speak for myself. As much as I like the lines of the C54 Calypso, it's just too long to fit comfortably in my back pocket. And, in a 3.5" blade, I'll take a Stretch over anything out there. Great ergos and a really great blade to handle ratio, to the point where I sometimes have to close it again to prove the blade actually can fit into the handle.

Deacon, every time you talk about the Stretch I get an intense urge to go and buy one, but I have to keep holding myself back. Can not carry at school..

But I want it too much.

I'm not talking about a C-54 sized knife, I would want something about 7/8th that size but with G-10 and at least one liner. The C-54 was very pretty but not very stong.

There's already a Calypso 4 in the works, but it's going to be a smaller (2.5" blade) version of the Calypso 3. You'll have to ask for a Calypso 5 if you want a big 'un.

I like the idea of a 2.5" blade -- nice and low-profile, non-threatening but still plenty useful.

Is this Calypso 4 going to be screw-construction like the Delica 4 & Endura 4?

I have long passed over the Calypso because I skip right past riveted knives now; but I recently discovered that I really like the blade shape. I would buy a couple of 'em if they were done as screwed-together versions.
