I'm new to this forum, so I hope this post is appropriate. I just ordered a Calypso plain edge for $54.95. Haven't received it yet, so I can't vouch for the company, Green Military, but I thought at this price others might be interested. I've seen used ones advertised for ~$80.

In general, I think the Calypso/Calypso Jr. is a great design and am glad to hear that the Jr may be making a brief comeback. I will definitely have to pick one up. Anyone have any positives/negatives to share on the large version?

That's an excellent deal. All of their other Spydies are way overpriced. I wonder how this one slipped thru the cracks?

Welcome to the forum, Macarthu! :)

I sold my slightly used, large plain edge Calypso last year for around $80. If you can find one for under $60, then that's a great deal.

The large Calypso is a sweet knife. It's not very beefy for its size though; it's really more of a gentleman's knife. There are a lot of 4" folders out there, so it was hard for the Calypso to compete. Plus, the large Calypso was so nice that I had a hard time forcing myself to carry it!

I frequently carry a Calypso Jr. Ltwt. nowadays. The basic Calypso design is beyond reproach. If the large Calypso works for you, then there's no reason not to use it. In my humble opinion, the example that I owned was really a superlative knife.

Yes its a great deal.I will go up there tomarrow.I didn't even know they had a website.

Replied,There is another opption for ordering from them but if that doesn't work out give me another email.

I couldn't get up there this morning but had my mom go by there when she took lunch, she works about 1/2 mile from them and put one in lay away for me.They only had SEs but they do have some Jrs too.

They were sold out of the C54s when I called. Looks like you got the last one. BTW, they want too much for the juniors.
