I noticed the grey FRN Calypso Jr is now on the spyderco website. Is this now a regular item in the line up? I remember reading they would be doing a limited run of them but wondered if they decided to make them a regular item. I just received mine and I love it.

I have one and love it. But one thing puzzles me. The Calypso Jr. receives universal praise as a cutting tool here on the forum. Gentleman's scalpel, etc. The latest production was a sprint run, right? 1000 or 1200 or something like that? If they're so wildly popular, and relatively few were made, then why are they still available from most internet dealers?

I think a saw posted somewhere that they sold so well that they were added back to regular production.
I also saw that a mat finish CF Jr is about to be released.

Because we knife geeks love the Calypso Jr., but the great unwashed do not. This makes us better than them.

PS :) :) :) :)
Seriously, Sal has said a few times that internet people loves the Calypso Jr., but it's not a great selling model otherwise.

It's in regular production for the rest of this year at least. Don't know about '05.
