Calypso Jr. Problem

I have a problem with action on my micarta Calypso Jr. I suspect that the handle scales are not parallel around the pivot. When I hold the lock bar disengaged while opening the blade, it has side to side play when just slightly opened and tightens up as it continues to open. When the blade is fully open, it is so tight that I could use the knife for light chores with the lock disengaged.

Can this be fixed? I e-mailed Spyderco, and they just told me it would loosen up with use. I'm pretty sure that that is not the answer. I have owned a couple of Calypsos, so I know that this isn't normal.

Hi Archie. Sorry you are having a problem. It's hard to assess the problem based on verbal info. If it is a bothersome problem, you will probably have to send it in with an explanation to Warrantee & Repair.
