Calypso Jr. question...

Hello. I just recieved a Calypso Jr. from Tique (great guy, great service) and I have a couple questions. When it's closed, there is a GREAT deal of sloppiness in lateral blade movement. It just wiggles side to side. When opened, there's no more lateral blade play, but when I press the blade into something, it moves up a tiny bit. My question is, is this normal? or should I send it in to Spyderco?

Hi Nitin. Hard to imagine a GREAT deal of lateral play. There is not a lot of room for the blade to move laterally (about .004). It will nomally move a little if pushed manually when closed. One could propbably forced the blade to move laterally. Does it move when you shake it? Is it micarta or FRN?

Hi Sal. Thanks for the prompt response. I'll try to clarify as best I can. Let me just preface this by saying i'm happy with the knife and impressed with it overall, just trying to see if I can make it as good as possible.

Okay, i have the FRN model, and the clip is set up for right hand carry. When closed, the blade will move when pushed very lightly from center to the liner side towards the clip. And yes, when I shake it it will do the same thing. Interestingly, it won't move (even when pushed) to the other side, away from center to the other liner side. At the tip, from the center position, the movement is almost 1/16 of an inch. I should clarify that my moving it is not forcing it, it wiggles freely, I am exerting very little pressure.
