Not sure if this has been brought up before, but I was fantasizing today about the possibility of Calypso Jr. sprint runs. It's gotta be one of my all time favorite EDC blades and would love to see some new versions pop up. Seeing the full size Calypso sprint was a good sign, but has anyone heard anything?

Unfortunately no. The Calypso jr. is for me a classic, i own five of them and carry a one every day since 2005. I like everything in this knife and i would like to get new versions with new steels. Let's keep the FRN handle whatever the color.

I don't recall if any reports came back from the Amsterdam meeting - but if nobody saw it, then it may be somewhere down on the priority list at Golden. That would be a shame - this is probably my all-time favorite Spyderco...

There was talk about a year ago about there being a Micarta version (burgundy) if I'm not mistaken...sprint run of course. However, it seemed to have been in the very early planning stages. Seeing as there's been no mention of it so far I'm guessing the idea has been scrapped.

Or maybe Spy's production schedule is just way too loaded atm and it could be in the pipeline. Seeing as the PM-2 is so high in demand and the current models for 2013 are not easy to produce. The Chap2, Native Ti...all this takes valuable time.

Also given the fact that the Caly Jr. had QC issues at the time, production was stopped.

However, to me it will be one of my prized possessions till I die, a better design of knife - there is none.

The back lock on the Black ZDP Caly Jr. was just perfection. It was unbelievably smooth, I could flick it open like an axis lock knife.

And yes its an unbelievable slicer, my Caly Jr.s became safe queens when the Chaparral came along

redfeenix, nice collection, I'm jealous. Over the years I have had and let go every one of the FRN versions. Seeing how hard they are to come by now is unfortunate. I just want to see a Sprint so I don't have to break the bank to get one. As much as I love them, I'm not gonna pay $150 plus for one.

There is one on the bay (Black ZDP) right now at a very decent price ending soon.

I also know a website selling the serrated version if you're interested..... at an amazing price.
